The man accused of a stabbing in east Emporia late last month has been charged with attempted murder.
Guillermo Fuero-Mendoza, age 29, officially has been charged with attempted first-degree murder for stabbing 41-year-old Gabriel Roman during an argument over money at 412 East Seventh on Nov. 23. Both men were hurt, although Roman's injuries were more significant.
Fuero-Mendoza is also charged with aggravated robbery and robbery, with a count of aggravated battery as an alternate to the attempted murder charge.
Fuero-Mendoza had his first appearance in Lyon County District Court on Monday. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 30.
