We invite applications for Maintenance Reliability Team Leader at our Emporia, Kansas dry pet food manufacturing plant. As a Maintenance Reliability Team Leader for Hill's Pet Nutrition, you will work in a friendly, team-oriented environment producing the industry's leading premium dry dog and cat food. Responsibilities for this position include:

 

  • Accountable for the quality and productivity of the maintenance department, and its ability to deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Develops and tracks maintenance department KPI's.  Analyzes variances associated with department's material and labor costs.
  • Coordinates equipment/asset set-up in SAP, including equipment criticality ratings, PM set-up, asset tracking mechanisms, and spare parts requirements.
  • Implements and maintains predictive/preventative/autonomous maintenance programs.
  • Manages overall department financial accountability, including central store inventory and working capital targets.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing cost reduction programs.
  • Ensures the development of people, teams, and organizational capabilities by empowering team members through training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, appraisals, and delegation.
  • Facilitates troubleshooting of production problems on a timely basis. (Requires climbing, bending, kneeling and the ability to lift 50 pounds and the availability to remain on-call for nights and weekend coverage).
  • Responsible for setting the example of Colgate's core values and principles of Managing with Respect.
  • Accountable for department's compliance with Colgate guidelines and governmental regulations related to Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality, and Regulatory.

Qualifications

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
  • Must be able to bend, climb, crawl, work in confined spaces, work in hazardous condition spaces, work in extreme weather conditions, use hazardous materials and ability to work at heights of up to 120 ft., use a mechanical lift, or ladder
  • Must be able to work in a standard office environment

 

  Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Operations team leader experience
  • Maintenance professional experience
  • Design of maintenance technician training & skill certification program
  • Experience working with food safety regulated environments (AIB, FDA, USDA, cGMP)
  • Proficient with the following programs:
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint
    • Lotus notes or equivalent email
    • Maintenance work order systems
    • SAP
  • Demonstrates the following competencies:
    • Work Standards
    • Attention to detail
    • Managing and developing others
    • Analytical Decision Making
    • Technical knowledge (PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics, VFD, electrical, mechanical, safety)
