Hill's Pet Nutrition is a $2.2 billion, global division of Colgate-Palmolive, invites applications for Maintenance Technicians and Controls Engineer Team Leader at our Emporia, Kansas dry pet food manufacturing plant. As a team member for Hill's Pet Nutrition, you will work in a friendly, team-oriented environment producing the industry's leading premium dry dog and cat food. This is an exciting opportunity to work at a manufacturing facility with state-of-the-art technology and processes.

 

Requirements for Maintenance Technician:

·         High school diploma or GED required.

·         1+ year of Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant

·         Ability to work an off-shift work schedule that includes weekends.

·         Basic Math and computer skills

·         Ability to bend, climb, crawl, work in confined spaces, work in hazardous condition spaces, work in extreme weather conditions, use hazardous materials and lift up to 50 lbs on continual basis.

·         Must also be able to work at heights of up to 300 ft.

·         Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment including, hearing, eye, dust and foot protection.

Requirements for Controls Engineer Team Leader:

·         BS in Electrical Engineering or related field

·         3+ years' experience in a food manufacturing facility

·         3+ years' experience working on control systems in a project management / engineering role

·         3+ years' experience and knowledge in the following:

o        Electrical power distribution, Motor Controls (variable frequency drives, motor starters, etc.), Industrial Automation Networks (DeviceNet, Ethernet), Process and machine instrumentation, Computer Networks Architecture (servers, switches, network), Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC's and  HMI Development experience

  • Ability to travel 10%
  • Ability to a schedule supporting a 24/7 operation, which may include nights, weekends or holidays
  • Ability to be on call during off hours
  • Ability to bend, climb, crawl, work in confined spaces, work in hazardous condition spaces, work in extreme weather conditions, use hazardous materials, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a continual basis
  • Ability to work at heights of up to 300 ft
  • Ability to wear all required PPE
  • Intermediate experience with the following computer programs:
    • MS Word/Excel/Access/PowerPoint and Lotus notes or equivalent email
  • Proficient in Statistical Process Control, CPk and Continuous Improvement Methodologies
