Emporia State's Earth Science Club held an information event with a twist Saturday.
Club members had "Stone Identification Day," where students or members of the public could bring in rocks of any sort and have them categorized.
Club president Marie Barlow says a lot of people are curious about the rocks they find.

Club members identified specimens of gypsum, amazonite and geodes during the event.
This is part of Earth Science Month, and club members also have a field trip to the Santa Fe Trail and a "rock swap day" coming this month. Club members have acquired "a ton" of petrified wood they would like to give out.
