Further discussion of a controversial recommendation will be part of the USD 251 North Lyon County School Board meeting Monday night.
Board members will review the recommendation from the district's Facilities Committee, which said last month USD 251 should consolidate its current schools at Americus, Reading and Allen into a single K-through-12 building.
It could cost around $30 million for such a building as opposed to an estimated $23 million to renovate the current schools, but committee members anticipate annual savings of nearly $1 million with a new building as opposed to around $115,000 with a complete remodel.
Board members also plan to open bus bids and review part of the district policy book. An executive session is also planned.
The meeting starts at 7 pm at the district board office in Americus.
