Free Red Bud Trees - Lion's Club

Wednesday, September 16, the Emporia Lions Club will be continuing a tradition started 81 years ago in 1939. The Emporia Lions will be giving away contained grown Redbud trees free at the Emporia Afternoon Farmers Market from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.  The Lions have ordered 750 red bud trees for this year’s distribution.  We are partnering with at least four 4-H Clubs who will receive up to 50 trees that they will be distributing and planning in the area.Wednesday, September 16, the Emporia Lions Club will be continuing a tradition started 81 years ago in 1939. The Emporia Lions will be giving away contained grown Redbud trees free at the Emporia Afternoon Farmers Market from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.  The Lions have ordered 750 red bud trees for this year’s distribution.  We are partnering with at least four 4-H Clubs who will receive up to 50 trees that they will be distributing and planning in the area.The Emporia Lions are celebrating their 99th year this year.  The lions have distributed over 10,00 red bud trees over the years with this project.Come out and get your redbud trees 5:00 to 6:30 Wednesday evening at the Emporia Farmers Market. If there are any remaining trees, they will be given away at the Saturday morning Farmers Market on September 19th.  The Cleve Cook/Lions Foundation furnished the funds to purchase the trees. Lion Cleve was a big fan of the Farmers Market.
