Bingo enthusiasts in Americus turned out Saturday morning for a bit messier version of the classic game.
A special game of cow patty bingo raised over $2,000 for Americus Project Playscape towards the construction of a new baseball field in town. The way the game worked is competitors paid for a square and then let the “cow in charge” pick the winning spot by taking a squat.
Fundraiser organizer Britney Hinrichs (Hin-Ricks) says the fundraiser was an enjoyable event that brought the whole community together. She says the event has more community impact than simply helping fund the construction of a new ball field.
The winning square was purchased by Mike Phillips who took home the $350 grand prize. Coming in second and receiving $50 cash with a $25 restaurant gift certificate were Josh and Sarah Henning.
