AJ Dome has chased tornadoes, worked on National Geographic productions, and got punched in the face by Ed Asner--all in one year! He's a Kansas boy at heart, but was born in Tucson, AZ. Regardless, AJ considers Garden City, KS his hometown.
AJ's journalism career began in 2006, when he was a freshman at Garden City High School. He took a publications class because "it seemed neat," and he discovered how much he loved writing and telling stories. At the same time, he started his tenure in GCHS's broadcasting program, where he learned the ins and outs of radio and TV production. AJ has won 13 separate KAB awards for his high school broadcasting work. He's also created and hosted his own web-shows (both radio and TV) and directed short films in college.
AJ's biggest influences in broadcasting are NBC's Brian Williams and the venerable Paul Harvey. One of his goals is to become a correspondent on 60 Minutes.
AJ has a love affair with the show Top Gear, and is a big fan of all things automotive. He's an animal lover, and a big supporter of adopting shelter pets. If you have a dog or cat, he will pet it. In his spare time, AJ is most likely scribbling a new short story or screenplay down on a napkin, while having a cup of good coffee.
